Warm Weather, New Me
I love when people tell me seasonal depression isn't real.
The minute the mercury hit 50 degrees, I started walking 5K steps a day, cleaned my house, and re-organized my closet. If that’s not the opposite of cold-induced depression, what is?
With the perk that only sunlight can give me, I have worked towards a simpler, more authentic every day. What this means is, I let myself sleep in without guilt, I stop feeling selfish for my mid-day breaks, and allow myself the luxury of personal time instead of constant chores and menial tasks.
I highly recommend it.
I have read 4 books this year already, completed a paint-by-numbers, and even sold off some of my old clothes. I’ve met a friend for socially-distanced coffee and have had a standing Tuesday night game night with another local couple.
Sure, I’ve got my down days — I miss movie theatres, music venues, and catching up at a brewery — but we’re almost there.
For now, take a minute to enjoy the sunshine, take that morning meeting outside, and find your favorite jacket.
